These lightweight, reusable isolation gowns provide fluid barrier protection appropriate to a minimal risk medical environment. They are often called surgical gowns or fluid-resistant gowns. They can protect both the patient and the practicioner. Considered to be personal protective apparel or PPE, barrier gowns are recommended under ADA COVID-19 Interim Guidance and mandated under OSHA’s Occupational Exposure to Bloodborne Pathogens - Final Rule.
